§ Integration — Xero

Sync receipts to
Xero.

Snap a receipt. Slipsheet reads it. A new row lands in your Xero organisation — vendor, date, category, total — ready for the next bank reconciliation. OAuth2, scoped access, popular worldwide.

§ 01 — The Method

Snap it. Xero tallies it.

Connect once with Xero OAuth2. Pick the Xero organisation. From then on, every confirmed receipt writes itself into the next row of your expenses feed.

01 Step 1

Connect your Xero account.

One-click OAuth2 via Xero. We request the accounting.transactions scope — the narrowest that lets us read and write expense rows to a single Xero organisation. Works with any Xero subscription.

Scope · accounting.transactions · Scoped to one org
02 Step 2

Pick the Xero organisation.

Choose the Xero organisation you want receipts flowing into. Slipsheet will write expense rows with columns for Date, Vendor, Category (Xero chart of accounts), Subtotal, Tax, Total, Notes, and Receipt Link.

Xero · Organisation · Chart of Accounts
03 Step 3

Confirm. It syncs.

After you review a receipt in the queue and stamp it confirmed, Slipsheet appends a row to your Xero expenses feed. The original receipt file stays linked, one click away.

Appends · 1-2s · Xero API

§ 03 — Who it's for

Built for the Xero-organized.

Case · 01

Freelancers and small businesses.

Xero is where your business lives. Slipsheet drops receipts in categorized and totaled, so the monthly reconciliation is clean before it starts.

Case · 02

Accountants with Xero clients.

UK, Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia — Xero is the tool of choice for tens of thousands of accounting practices. Slipsheet keeps receipts flowing in per client org, ready for the monthly close.

Case · 03

Growing businesses outside the US.

Xero leads in markets where Intuit never dominated. Slipsheet's extraction works in all the same currencies and tax regimes that Xero supports.

§ 04 — The old way vs. Slipsheet

Put down the data entry.

Manual data entry

Processing receipts into Xero.

  • Open Xero, find the bank reconciliation, click Add Receipt.
  • Type vendor, date, total, category — one field at a time.
  • Match it to the wrong account code.
  • Forget to attach the receipt as a Xero attachment.
  • Do it all again next week.
Slipsheet + Xero

Snap it. Xero tallies it.

  • Drop a photo or forward an email; extraction runs in seconds.
  • Slipsheet extracts vendor, date, total, and category.
  • Review the queue, correct the one field the model squinted at.
  • Confirm. A row appends to your Xero expenses feed, with the receipt linked.
  • Chart of accounts-mapped, totaled, attached. Done.
§ 05 — Questions, answered

The fine print.

This integration targets individual Xero organisation accounts. Xero HQ and Practice Manager are practice-management tools; this sync goes directly into a client's Xero org.
No. We use the accounting.transactions scope, scoped to the single Xero organisation you authorize. We do not see other organisations, payroll, or banking data.
Yes. Slipsheet infers a category from the receipt, and you can map or override it to any account in your Xero chart of accounts. Pro users can set up routing rules per category.
The receipt file stays in Slipsheet with a link back from the Xero row. The row in Xero contains the extracted fields and a hyperlink to the original receipt for audit purposes.
Yes. Pro plan users can connect multiple Xero organisations. Useful for accountants managing several clients, each with their own Xero account.
Slipsheet extracts amounts in the currency shown on the receipt. Xero handles multi-currency natively; if your org uses a different base currency, Xero will flag it for review.
§ 06 — Your turn

Receipt it.
Xero gets it.

14 days. No card. No Xero session on a Sunday. Your expenses feed filling itself while you do literally anything else.
