Stay on SAP Concur if your company needs approvals, reimbursements, card matching or policy checks; pick Slipsheet if you only need receipts as rows in a ledger you own.

Stay on Concur if

• Someone approves expenses before they count, and Concur's mobile app lets employees submit, review and approve expense reports.
• You reimburse employees, which Concur Expense is sold to handle.
• You want receipts matched to card charges. Concur says ExpenseIt does this.
• You need configurable workflows and compliance checks, which Concur lists on its Expense page.

Those are company-wide systems with a price per report. If that is your situation, Slipsheet is not a smaller version of it. It is a different tool.

Pick Slipsheet if

• You are a freelancer, a solo owner or a small shop, and nobody approves your receipts.
• You want every receipt as one row in a file you control, with the same columns each time.
• Your bookkeeper or tax preparer asks for a spreadsheet.
• You would rather pay a flat monthly price than per report.

Compared with Excel, Sheets and a folder of receipts

Most people who land here do not run Concur. They have a spreadsheet, or a folder of photos and emailed PDFs, and a growing feeling that it is a mess. A folder holds the evidence but not the numbers. A sheet holds the numbers, but you type each one and hunt down the photo behind it.

How Slipsheet works

Upload JPG, PNG, HEIC or PDF files on the web, or, on a paid plan, forward receipt emails with the files attached. Slipsheet reads each receipt with OCR and fills in a row. You review it, fix anything, and add a category, client_tag or notes.

The export is one CSV named slipsheet-YYYYMMDD.csv with nine columns: date, merchant, total_amount, currency, tax_amount, category, client_tag, notes, file_name. The column walkthrough explains each one. Google Sheets sync is on Pro. Excel and Microsoft 365 sync are coming soon; today Excel gets the CSV.
